#FARCOteenCamp – Stronger Together with Neurogenic Bladder
FARCO-PHARMA connects children and teens with neurogenic bladder.
With the #FARCOteenCamp, FARCO-PHARMA creates a special place for children and teens with neurogenic bladder dysfunction – and for the people who support them on their journey.
Neurogenic Bladder – Different Causes, Similar Challenges
Neurogenic detrusor overactivity (NDO), also known as neurogenic bladder dysfunction, occurs when the nervous system’s control of the bladder is impaired. The causes can vary widely.
For example, NDO can occur in connection with spinal cord injury or neurological conditions such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s disease, or a stroke. Conditions such as diabetes mellitus can also be associated with impaired bladder function. In children and adolescents, spina bifida – a congenital malformation of the spinal cord – is a particularly common cause.
As varied as the underlying conditions may be, many of the young people affected and their families face very similar questions and challenges in their daily lives.
Especially during adolescence, many other issues come into play alongside medical concerns: How can I become more independent? How do I manage my condition while in school, vocational training, or at work? How do I organize my free time, sports, or travel? What do friendship, relationships, and sexuality mean to me? And how do I make the transition from pediatric to adult healthcare?
This is exactly where the #FARCOteenCamp comes in.
A place where you feel understood
At #FARCOteenCamp, teens meet other young people who share many of their experiences. Here, they can talk openly with one another, ask questions, learn from each other – and realize that they’re not alone in facing their challenges.
Experts in medicine and urotherapy, as well as experienced mentors, support the teens. Through discussions, workshops, and group activities, they explore topics that truly matter in everyday life: from bladder management to independence, travel, sports, and careers, all the way to friendship, relationships, and sexuality.
The focus is not on the medical condition, but on the young person and their hopes, questions, and plans for the future.
Parents and other caregivers are also given the opportunity to connect. Through a dedicated program, they can share experiences, ask questions, and gain new insights to apply to their daily lives together.
An Idea Has Grown Into a Network
What began as an initiative for young people with neurogenic bladder has since become an integral part of FARCO-PHARMA’s commitment.
Eight #FARCOteenCamps have already taken place.
Each camp demonstrates anew just how valuable personal encounters can be. Conversations, friendships, and connections are formed that often extend far beyond the shared weekend.
For FARCO-PHARMA, therefore, commitment means more than just providing medical products. We want to support people with neurogenic bladder dysfunction in leading as self-determined a life as possible – and give young people affected by this condition opportunities to learn from one another, strengthen each other, and discover new perspectives for their own paths in life.

The Next #FARCOteenCamps in 2027
The #FARCOteenCamp will continue in 2027 as well:
June 4–6, 2027
Hotel FIT
53804 Much, North Rhine-Westphalia
June 18–20, 2027
Hotel Sempachersee
6207 Nottwil, Switzerland
Over three days together, we want to provide young people with a space for connection, exchange, and information – and above all, for many positive shared experiences.
Moving confidently into the future together
The #FARCOteenCamp is meant to inspire courage. The courage to ask questions. The courage to speak openly about one’s own situation. The courage to forge one’s own path. And the courage to take on more responsibility for one’s own life, step by step.
Because sometimes, meeting people who understand what you’re talking about makes all the difference.
The #FARCOteenCamp brings people together, builds community, and opens up new perspectives – for young people and their families.
